How old are you? Two.

Today J is TWO.  I can hardly believe it. Perhaps because I'm still not sure we know what hit us!

J is our firstborn, the one that rocked our quiet little world.  The one that redefined a good night's sleep, clean clothes, a night out, and so much more.

He literally has demanded everything of us. But you know how it goes with good things that demand all you've got.

They are rewarding, irreplaceable, precious, priceless.

 The great privilege of raising J is incredible, and humbling.  

And we are well aware we've only just begun!

Children insist that you be better.

Give more.

Which is why J's baptism is a huge comfort to us. A sign that when all we have as parents is not enough- God's grace and His covenants are.

J, you are our joy.  Your zeal is contagious, genuine and admirable. We hope you never lose it.  Seeing all you can do before you are even old enough to tie your shoes- we cannot wait to see what heights you will tackle.

For now, please get down from the top of the fridge.
