Yesterday was a special day for our family, J's baptism. M's side was able to be there, and we took lots of photos for mine who were certainly supporting us in spirit.
Some of you may wonder why we are baptizing our infant- obviously he is too young to profess faith in Christ. I thought I would give a brief explanation so it is clear why this sacrament is so sacred to our family. We believe that baptism is the sign and seal of God's covenant with us. The promise to provide salvation and to be a faithful God to us and our children. Yes, we are dedicating J to God, however, infant baptism is not simply a dedication. J is being marked, set apart and identified in front of his church family as a covenant child. Entitled to all that entails. We do not believe that this baptism "saves" J, so we will eagerly anticipate and pray for the day that he professes his need for a Savior by faith through grace.
I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters says the Lord Almighty

Afterwords we had brunch at our house to celebrate. Mallory, M's talented cousin, gave J a beautiful quilt she had made. Thank you, Mallory!
Finally J got to put on some comfy clothes...
...and took a 2.5 hr nap.

What a blessing...Praise the Lord for His many promises to His children! Little J looks like such a stud (as do y'all!) Especially love the romper :)
